Cohesive ties reading lesson

Cohesive ties are used to link or ‘tie’ ideas together.

We use pronouns to help us link the ideas.

Pronouns help us refer backwards to a noun that has already been introduced.

It saves us from repeating the noun.

E.g. The ball was passed to Kim. Kim shot at goal.
The ball was passed to Kim. She shot at goal.
